What is the energy efficiency certificate?

The energy efficiency certificate is a proof required by the Ministry of industry, energy and tourism to all the properties that are to be rented or purchased by someone else. This measure aims to achieve an improvement of energy in all countries of the European Union. This document must incorporate all the energy aspects of the address, above all to enable better evaluation and rating of all the elements that make up the property. An aspect that is known as "energy label" is derived of it.

Is this certificate mandatory?

Yes, as envisioned in the Real Decree 235/2013, April 5, all the users who want to rent or sell a property must have this certificate.

Who should perform this energy certificate?

The energy efficiency certificate must be carried out by an authorised technician, who trained for this and being able to be engineers, architects and technicians.
